Where was the money invested and what are the trends moving forward?

Mutual fund management companies in Mexico manage over 3.8 trillion pesos, or nearly 197 billion US dollars. This amount is equivalent to 12% of Mexico's Gross Domestic Product and almost half (44%) of public pension fund assets under management (or Afores).

During the first half of 2024, Mexican mutual funds recorded a net sale of 77.5 million shares in Mexican listed companies.

Of the total assets under management by the funds, 149 billion pesos (or $7.65 billion) are invested in the Mexican listed companies.

The fund management companies with the largest share in Mexican listed companies are GBM Administradora de Activos, Operadora Inbursa, and BlackRock México Operadora with 38%, 32%, and 6% respectively.
